"Respect, Compassion And Sensitivity"? Yeah, Right.

Once again, the Catholic Church demonstrates it does not know the meaning of either word, and once again, it shifts the goal posts away from its own teachings to continue to exclude LGBT people.

Now that the Boy Scouts have voted to accept openly gay adults as leaders, Catholic bishop in Bismarck David Kagan has cut all ties between the diocese and the Boy Scouts. He wrote in a letter to parishioners:

Second, and as expected, the Boy Scouts of America voted to admit openly gay adults into the organization to hold leadership positions. While there are indications that the BSA has a religious organization exception, which each local troop could invoke, that will provide no protection for any of our parishes and/or schools, which sponsor troops. Thus, effective immediately, the Catholic Church of the Diocese of Bismarck and each and every one of its parishes, schools and other institutions, is formally disaffiliated with and from the Boy Scouts of America. If your parish sponsors a troop, your priest has been asked to inform those persons associated with the BSA of this action and to inform the BSA itself of this decision. I regret my decision but, in conscience as the Chief Shepherd of the Diocese of Bismarck, I cannot permit our Catholic institutions to accept and participate directly or indirectly in any organization, which has policies and methods, which contradict the authoritative moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
Firstly, I find it hilarious that this guy still think the Catholic Church, of all religious institutions, still has "authoritative moral teachings". Secondly, the Boy Scouts aren't doing anything that contradicts the teachings of the Catholic Church. Their inclusion of openly gay leaders doesn't mean they approve of or condone their sexuality. Hating LGBT people is so important that this bishop will do it even when the church's teachings don't even require it.

Now we move to Switzerland, where we got a frightening glimpse into how another bishop may think:

Vitus Huonder, the controversial Catholic bishop of Chur in eastern Switzerland, has once again attracted criticism for quoting homophobic Bible passages and denouncing non-traditional family models.

At the “Joy in Faith” forum in the German city of Fulda, he quoted a passage from the Bible which said homosexuals should be punished by death.

In his 50-minute address on Friday, titled “Marriage – a gift, sacrament and order”, Huonder quoted various passages backing up his views. He also slammed gender theory, divorce, sex education and gay marriage.

Regarding homosexuality, the 73-year-old bishop quoted two verses from the book of Leviticus, including Leviticus 20:13: “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

In response to applause, he continued: “Both of these passages alone suffice to clarify unambiguously the church’s position on homosexuality”.

Even if he doesn't want LGBT people to be executed, what kind of fucking idiot thinks quoting that verse is a good idea?

And what the fuck is going on when he gets applauded, as he did, for saying such disgusting shit?

Please understand, conservatives, why I don't consider this love. And please understand that this is why it is your side that is persecuting LGBT people, not the other way round.
