NOM Backs Texas' Lawless Supreme Court Defying Bill

First there were the calls for pro-equality attorneys-general to be impeached. Then there were the calls todefy federalcourt orders. Then there was the call to get Justice Ginsburg thrown off the case.

And now, NOM is backing Texas HB 4501, which, if it becomes law, will prohibit state officials who marriage licenses to same-sex couples, even if they are doing so because they have to (which they might because, I don't know, the highest court in the country will likely say so), from receiving a salary.

Their headline reads:

All States Should Take Texas’ Lead
And in case there's any doubt that they don't give a fuck what even the Supreme Court says:
Texas is taking a strong stance to protect their State’s right to define marriage, regardless of what ruling the Supreme Court issues[.]

[...]

Leading by example is one of the highest and effective forms of leadership, and Texas is proving that their ideals and their government truly are led by the people. All states and all citizens should take up the American cause to give the power back to the people, and let the states decide their own fates.

I'm going to confess to some extreme naïveté here. Every time NOM one-ups itself with its own stupidity, my judgement about how low they can go only goes to that next level. Even up until this latest display of stupidity so severe it would puzzle even the best trained psychiatrist on the face of the Earth, I still had not yet realized that they can say, and do, anything they want. Now I do.

Of course, this comesafter allof theircondemnations of everything that they think is lawless, even when it's not.

Apparently, all that they piss and moan about is lawless, but defying the Supreme Court would not be.

Brian Brown's mind truly is a bottomless pit.
